St. Michael's Mount

St. Michael’s Mount

On our trip through England we came to lots of lovely places, after St. Ives we went to Cornwall where we visited St. Michael’s Mount.
We were lucky that we could reach the island by foot, because if we were there while flood we would had to take the ferry.
We walked along the beautiful beach with a lot of seaweed and watched a film about life as a fisherman in Cornwall.
After a short eating and drinking break we continued walking up to St. Michael’s Mount.
Stepping up the stairs we started a very important discussion about the singular for the shoes “crocs”. Some people said the singular would be one “croc” and others said it would be “crocs”. Nobody was sure about it,so we asked our teachers, but even they didn’t know for sure.

On top of St. Michael’s Mount we saw a castle in which a gentry family lived years ago, nowadays the castle is owned by the National Trust.
After walking through the castle we took some fantastic photos of the great landscape.
From up there we could see the beautiful garden on the island and the sea.
When we went down from St. Michael’s Mount we built two groups croc’s and crocs moments later our talk got out of control and the two groups fought each other.

Overall this was my personal favorite place, because of the gorgeous view and the entertaining discussion.

Ps: The croc was right, we asked in an official Crocs store.
I always was a croc and I am proud to be one J
On the next page there are some pretty pictures of St. Michael’s Mount.

Penzance And Duxford

Minack And Roayl Air Force

Hey guys!
My class and I spent 10 days in England by bus.
We saw a lot of lovely places to be and here are two of my favourites.

The first place I want to mention is the Minack Theatre. It's an old open air theatre built in the year 1931 by a woman called Rowena Cade and her gardener Billy.
Day by day they cut rocks out of the cliffs and built steps where people can sit and of course a stage where the actors can play and sing.
Rowena Cade was working on the theatre until she died in 1983.
It can be said that the Minack theatre is the life of Cade because she has worked on it so hard.
I think it was worth seeing and we had a really nice weather when visiting.

The second place is the Duxford Royal Air Force Museum because I really like aircrafts. Maybe because of the reason that I live nearby an airport, so I always have a reference to flying.
I was really impressed by all these old and beautiful and fascinating airplanes. There were airplanes which were used by the Royal Air Force of England and some Us Navy airplanes. Many of these aircrafts were used in the Second World War and there're also a lot of other vehicles from that time. It was really impressive and fascinating and defintely one of my most favourite places.

Overall our whole England trip was really cool and quite fun and I'll think of it for a long time!

                       Lovely greetings,
                         Lisa ;-)

Brighton

Hey everyone,
it's time for a new post, since our class came back from England two weeks ago and so we've got plenty of things we want to tell you about our trip.

And I'm now going to tell you something about Brighton and what we did there. Brighton is located in the south east of England and only about an hour away from London, and it is known as the capital of homosexuality, so as you can guess, there are lots of unusual and very individual people walking around and of course there is always something happening in Brighton. Some of you might have already been there but for those who haven't I can only recommend going there and visiting it yourselves.
There are many things to see and activities to do. Like visiting the Royal Pavilion, which is what we did on Thursday morning. The building is beautiful and its architecture is impressive. From the outside it looks like an Indian building but on the inside you could think you are in China. After that we went to an Italian restaurant to get lunch, the food there wasn't special though, so not one I'd recommend. But after that we could finally decide ourselves what we would like to do in the afternoon, so most of us went shopping and eating to the big shopping centre and the Brighton Lanes, both were only a few minute walks away from the hostel we stayed in. Our motto was definitely: shop till you drop.

Another must see sight is the famous Brighton Pier. The Pier is basically just an amusement park built above the water. It offers rollercoasters and other kinds of rides and it's also a good spot to spend leftover cash because there is also a kind of casino and game hall for under 18's. The Pier and the beach next to it are also good spots to take lots of pictures.

I personally liked Brighton a lot because it's a beautiful city and offers the perfect mix of old-fashioned and modern buildings and the kilometer-long beach makes it almost perfect. Brighton is the perfect choice if you like shopping, food and meeting new people. That's everything about Brighton from my point of view, I hope you liked it.

See you soon guys,
Miro <3

Tintagle

Hey guys!

From 28.9. to 8.10. our class went to England by bus. We saw a lot of beautiful places but what I liked most was Tintagle.

In Tintagle there is a castle of King Arthur. Arthur was the man who took the sward out of the stone so he became very famous. He became king and was the leader of the Round Table including lots of cavaliers like for example Lancelot.

Even though nowadays everybody knows thant Arthur was never in Tintagle, it is still a big Tourist attraction, especially becaus of the very beautiful landscape.

You have to pay entry fee and then you can walk up the impressive cliffs. On the hill you can see th ecastle. Although I expected more because there where just a few Stones left, I liked it very much. There is also a big statue of King Arthur on the hill. At the top of the hill you have a very beautiful view of the sea. As it was a sunny day wheN we where there, the sun was reflecting in the sea very beautiful.

Due to the impressive view I liked the place very much and I think it's for everybody worth going there!

Yours Claudia =)

St. Ives

Hey Guys!
My name is Andy and I want to tell you somthing about my favourite place my shool class and me visited during our school trip through England: St. Ives.

We went to St.Ives at two days because we wanted to go surfing there, but on the first day it was not possible, so we got there the next day too in order to go surfing. St. Ives is a small town at the British southwest coast. The buildings in the town look really cool because the architecture of them is typically British.

The town is surrounded by a beautiful landscape with a lot of green hills, beaches and cliffs. St. Ives also has an old harbour for fishing boats. The difference between low tide and high tide are so enormous that the fishing boats are standing at the middle of the beach, when there is low tide!

The thing I liked most of St. Ives was the landscape. Near to the coast at St. Ives there is a hill and when you go up that hill you had an awesome view all over the beaches, cliffs and the town.
This was my favourite place of a lot of great places we have visited!

Best greetings,
Andy

Stratford upon Avon

Hi guys!

Today I want to describe the place I liked most from our tour through England two weeks ago to you: Stratford upon Avon.
Stratford is a lovely little town not far away from Birmingham. You might know the little town because of Shakespeare’s birthplace which it is famous for. So we went there to visit this famous place, however, Stratford has much more to offer than just the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

There is a beautiful park by the river Avon where a friend of mine and I decided to watch the sunset. The atmosphere was really magic there, swans and little boats were swimming on the river and everyone was quite relaxed. You were able to cross the river through an old looking, orange Stonebridge and on the other side there were lots of huge trees.
This park is the perfect place to go to relax a little bit, meet friends, and watch the sun going down or just to enjoy the nature – it is one of the bright places where you want to stop time.

However, it is also worth to saunter through the narrow and clean streets of the city of Stratford which is marked by its old looking buildings.
To put it in a nutshell, it is definitely worth to visit Stratford upon Avon!

Best greetings,
 Sarah :)
